“Circle K” Donates EUR 120,000 in the Baltics to Support Ukraine

The fuel retail network “Circle K”, with the support of its customers, has raised a EUR 120 000 donation for various organizations and associations across the Baltic states that provide different types of support to Ukraine and its people. In Latvia, EUR 20 000 will be allocated to the “Tavi draugi” association to support logistics processes, ensuring prompt assistance to Ukrainian civilians affected by attacks and soldiers on the front lines.
In Lithuania, EUR 80 000 will be directed to the Lithuanian Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (LARD) Support Fund to purchase medical equipment and emergency vehicles for Ukrainian doctors. In Estonia, EUR 20 000 will go to the non-governmental organization “Freedom Convoy”, which will equip and deliver medical evacuation vehicles to Ukraine.
“Every day, we receive calls for help from soldiers on the front lines and Ukrainian civilians. Meeting these requests is a duty we have committed to fulfilling until Ukraine achieves victory. The support of Latvian residents and businesses is crucial in this effort. The donation from ‘Circle K’ is a significant boost, as it will help us quickly deliver the necessary aid to Ukraine and receive essential supplies from Ukraine in return,” said Ulvis Noviks, head of the “Tavi draugi” association, expressing gratitude to the donors.
During the fundraising campaign from February 17 to 26, 25 cents from every freshly prepared meal purchased at any “Circle K” fuel station in Latvia was donated to support Ukraine. “Since the beginning of the war, we have supported Ukraine and its people, and we will continue to do so. We sincerely thank our customers and employees who enthusiastically participated in this donation initiative,” said Armands Žubulis, retail network director of “Circle K Latvia”.
The association also notes that both the Ukrainian army and civilians can be supported in various ways. Ukrainians are always in need of sleeping bags, ready-to-eat food, sweets, canned goods, dried fruits, comfortable men’s clothing, as well as hygiene products for both adults and children. During the cold season, the most essential items include warm sleeping bags, thermal underwear, warm men’s socks (wool or synthetic), thermoses, flashlights, headlamps, and chemical body warmers such as heated insoles and hand warmers.
About “Tavi draugi”
The “Tavi draugi” association coordinates humanitarian aid for Ukrainian civilians in both Latvia and Ukraine, organizing and managing voluntary contributions from Latvian residents, organizations, and businesses. Before the full-scale war, the association provided assistance to families in need in Latvia. However, since the first day of the war, its focus has rapidly shifted to supporting Ukraine, including aid to Ukrainian war refugees at the Latvia-Russia border. The association continues to assist struggling Latvian residents and provides crisis support upon request. More information on the association’s projects and donation opportunities can be found here.
