The humanitarian aid point of the association Tavi Draugi at Ventspils iela 50, K-3, Riga receives and sorts the donated goods; the humanitarian aid donations are both distributed to recipients on site and delivered to Ukraine.
Every day, the warehouse is visited by 50 to 70 civilian refugees from Ukraine, including those who have just arrived in Latvia just now, to receive basic essentials:
- seasonal footwear and clothing,
- blankets, pillows and bed linen,
- hygiene products,
- household goods,
- stationary goods,
- food: both single extraordinary food packages and monthly dairy product sets,
- pet food.
Such aid is possible thanks to an extensive and regular support by businesses and individuals: both donations in kind and financial donations help purchase necessary goods, as well as aid from volunteer work.
For a Ukrainian civilian to receive assistance, he/she has to come to our humanitarian aid centre and go to the Registration point, taking along the document verifying the person’s identity and citizenship, and the person’s identity number granted in Latvia or the issued identification document. If the aid seeker has a child or several children, their documents should also be presented.
We also provide humanitarian aid to Latvian families and refugees of other nationalities. In such cases, please, contact us by phone/ email, or visit us bringing along your identification document. Each case will be considered individually, and we will do our utmost to ensure the necessary support.
