When two nations want to explore each other’s culture, feel the energy and power born from a shared song, and unite in a healing interaction, the mixed Latvian-Ukrainian choir of the “Tavi draugi” association is born!
Currently, nearly 20 participants sing in the choir – both association employees and volunteers, as well as those who had not previously been involved in “Tavi draugi” activities, until music brought them to the Ventspils Street 50 hangar.
The choir’s conductor and artistic director is Emīlija Marta Paidere, a 3rd-semester student at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, whose heart beats not only for Latvian, but also for Ukrainian music.
The choir rehearses every Friday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
This is another way for you to become one of us and help us do good work in support of Ukraine – this time with a song in your heart. A charity concert is planned for December to raise donations, more information will follow soon.
