Surveys of Ukrainian civilians in Latvia's regions

Regional support

Since 2024, we have been regularly conducting regional visits across Latvia to survey Ukrainian civilians residing there about the Latvian healthcare system. As part of the survey, we have already visited Jaunjelgava, Jēkabpils, Kabīle, Kuldīga, Liepāja, Roja, Saldus, Tukums, Vecbebri, and Ventspils.

The goal of the survey is to address various healthcare-related issues, such as how Ukrainian civilians navigate the healthcare system, whether they have a family doctor in Latvia, and the challenges they face in seeking healthcare specialists. The survey questions have been developed in collaboration with the Latvian Tuberculosis Prevention Association.

During the regional visits, we also organize POP-UP donation points, where donations can be made to support Ukrainian civilians living in Latvia and the Ukrainian military. Additionally, we deliver donations, including food, clothing, and other useful items, to Ukrainian civilians living in these regions.

By analyzing the survey data collected during these regional visits, we have concluded that people have both the desire and the need to learn more about the work of state institutions. Therefore, we conduct follow-up visits to carry out surveys on the awareness of state institutions and the services they offer. Based on the survey results in each city, we organize brief lectures with Q&A sessions addressing current issues.

These activities are implemented within the framework of the project titled “Support of the Professional Integration Process of Ukrainian Civilians in Latvia, Exchange of Experience and Information in Latvia and the Baltic States.” The project is supported by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Latvia.
