Hello! My name is Georgijs Davidjans, I am a student of international relations from Riga. I can’t stand aside, seeing how devastating the war in Ukraine is affecting people, depriving them of their homes and therefore the sense of a normal life. While in Ukraine, I met like-minded people from Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Romania, and together we are committed of doing good for the people affected by the consequences of the war.
What is our goal?
We are trying to collect as many financial resources as possible, with the goal of reaching at least 10 000 EUR. This money will be used to purchase materials needed for the “Brave to Rebuild” project. If we manage to raise more, we hope to buy a bus or minibus and donate it to Brave to Rebuild.
Why am I starting this project?
In 2023, I went to Ukraine as a volunteer. Although I am not a professional builder, even doing the simplest jobs, I realized how important this mission is. Over and over I heard in Kyiv, “Thank you for being here; this way we don’t feel alone.” This experience moved me deeply. I have also made many wonderful Ukrainian friends during my studies and I have a deep respect for Ukrainian culture and history. But that is not all – I am sure that the survival and victory of Ukraine is essential for Latvia’s security. I truly believe that if Ukraine falls, Latvia could be the next country on the list. Therefore, supporting Ukraine is also defending our freedom.
What are we planning to do?
We will be returning to Ukraine to deliver materials and funds to the local charity Brave to Rebuild. After that, we will get down to work and volunteer to help rebuild private homes destroyed in the war, and possibly help rebuild some public infrastructure, such as schools.

I am not a professional fundraiser. This is my first project of its kind, driven by personal conviction and desire to make a difference by helping people affected by war. I will be there on site, working with other Brave to Rebuild volunteers, making new connections and facilitating cultural exchange. It’s not just about raising money, it’s about solidarity, community building and hope.
